Quick Build Guide

This is only a simplified guide so you get the general idea of what it takes to build these gauges, much more in depth instructions with wiring diagrams are included with the code kits.

Hardware

This is the hardware needed for a 1.28" round tft screen, this may vary depending on what screen you choose, but the general idea is the same with each gauge. Each Display needs its own ESP-32WROOM so if you want 4x gauges you need 4x ESP32WROOM, 1 Rotary encoder per car and 1x ELM327 Per car , the encoder can controll up to 4x screens individualy by double pressing and switching controll, the ELM327 Talks to one esp32 and distibutes the info to the rest of the linked gauges if any are present. All Parts + Links listed under GAUGE V1

Wiring The Display

Start off by connecting the wires to your display with a 3 and 4 pin connector, make sure to run them through the case before soldering.

Wire Display To ESP32

Wire the display to the esp32 using the instructions manuals pin-pin table, each display pin has its dedicated pin on the esp32, take your time and make sure each wire is connected to its corrosponding pin.

Wire Encoder

Connect your wires to the rotary encoder with the same connectors, you can bridge the two GND pins together and run a single wire instead of all 5 pins

Wire Encoder To ESP32

Now wire the encoder to the esp32 as labeled on the instructions manual, if you wire it and the controll spins left when the encoder is spun right then the outer pins must be swapped to reverse the input.

Connect together

Now Connect everyhting together and put it inside the box provided as STL in KIT 2 & 3, if you want extra screens you simply follow the instructions manual and wire a exrta 3pin link cable to the other gauges esp32, then flash the correct software to both and they will work without issue.
